Who is Anant Design?

Anant Design is a one-woman show, run by Olena Wilshanetsky from her studio in Appalachian Ohio. Olena developed a deep love of mathematics and physics at an early age, and has enjoyed playing with both disciplines for many years. Growing up in the Ukrainian diaspora, she added her own perspective to the traditional arts that were passed down to her by her grandmother and other elders of the community. With little to no formal arts training, she has consistently returned to these media over the years: the metal, glass, and stones she shapes into one of a kind jewelry pieces; and the dyes, wax, and shells of the ancient pysanka tradition her family taught her.

The Sanskrit word anant (अनन्त) means endless, infinite, eternal. Rather than lay claim to each piece as her own, personal creation, Olena prefers to believe each piece is an expression of the eternal principles that underlie all experience.
